EDGE wants to build community and change philanthropy for systemic alternatives. This is why EDGE conferences are actually “unconferences” - we want to create a space for conversations rather than presentations and “death by powerpoint”.

Here is an overview of what you can expect and how  you can help shape the EDGE conference 2020:

Open Space

As at the last two EDGE conferences, the open space will be a significant part of the programme: Every participant can propose and host a conversation as we collectively curate the sessions. This year, we encourage all registered participants to start an online conversation about the discussions they would like to have at the conference using the forum on this website (TBC). The idea is to identify like-minded co-conspirators and come slightly more prepared if you already know what you want to discuss. However, here will still be ample space for sessions around spontaneously emerging topics as well.

This is for: emerging topics that come out of Day 1 of the conference. Topics you already know now that you want to discuss and find collaborators/contributors from the EDGE community

EDGE conferences are highly-interactive spaces, and there are plenty of ways to engage in conversations and mutual learning and we welcome your initiative and creative ideas during the conference.! We will plan ample breaks and hope to set up the space in a way that allows for spontaneous interactions to take place but also rely on you, our participants, to create an open environment of joint inquiry and learning.

We look forward to your brilliant contributions to help create an amazing conference. Please get in touch with Tobias ( if you have any questions or suggestions.
